The Journey Begins

Starting any new venture has the potential to provide ambivalence in the extreme. Excitement and exhilaration on the one hand and anxious anticipation on the other. At this exact moment, I can relate – completely.

Over the years I have tried my hand, and other more professional skills, at various business ventures. Some have been more successful than others, while all have taught incredible lessons that I will treasure forever. There have been ups and downs, highs and lows, but, retrospectively, I believe that they were stepping stones preparing me for things to come.

“theboshoff” is born

Hubby and I have been fortunate to travel a bit over the last couple of years and, albeit, not quite as extensively as many others, enough to provide us with several opportunities to seek and occupy accommodation other than our own. Planning our various trips is usually a task allocated to me and I attribute most of the underlying stress and anxiety related to the planning process, to the choice of accommodation. Location, price, cleanliness, linen, surroundings, sights in its vicinity and so many other factors determine where a booking will ultimately be made.

Having stayed in various establishments in different parts of the world, we realized that, for us, there is a very important factor that determines whether we will choose to return to a place or not.  Besides all of the practical aspects that are vital, we realized that hospitality, atmosphere and hosts that go out of their way to make our stay as welcoming, comfortable and overall pleasant, sets one place apart from another.

Armed with our experience and the season of life we find ourselves in, opportunity knocked and we chose to open the door. Since traveling had become somewhat of a passion, we decided to use our opportunity to ensure that other globetrotters get the experience we believe makes a journey special. We decided to establish our own place of accommodation in my hometown and a suburb that has been good to me throughout my life, to us throughout our married life and to our children while they were growing up.

The Boshoff’s Mission

Values are at the core of a person’s existence and they are vital to guide behaviour and actions, while family values provide a stable foundation to the relational structure of those that form a part of their family.

When we chose to embark on this entrepreneurial journey, we committed ourselves to run an establishment founded on strong values and principles, with a clear mission to provide domestic and foreign tourists with utmost hospitality, a home-away-from-home and excellent value for money.

The journey has barely begun but the excitement and eager anticipation are palpable. Every brick that is laid, plant carefully chosen and decor item chosen with thought are all part of that journey and we can’t wait to welcome our first guests into our “home“.

We will keep you posted on the progress and watch out for the special offers to come soon!

Let us know about your travels and especially what you consider to be important when you choose a place to stay.

Have a great day!
